Charles Astor works with design teams that are constantly developing new concepts that keeps them at the leading edge of window blind design. They assess the market by working closely with customers as well as keeping a watchful eye on contemporary fashion developments worldwide.

All Charles Astor fabrics undergo vigorous testing before launch to ensure that they not only look good, but will also stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use. Yarns and textiles selected for use in the manufacture of fabric conform to the highest standards. Each fabric is tested for solar and optical performance with some ranges featuring special finishes such as SPC® and ESP® blackouts to further enhance solar and energy efficiency.

Most of our component parts are designed and manufactured in the UK. Charles Astor works with engineers who use state of the art CAD equipment and rapid prototyping facilities to fine tune designs for component performance and part manufacture. Only high quality prime grade thermoplastic engineering materials are used in the manufacture of component parts.

...then we begin the manufacturing process...

We take great pride that the majority of our fabrics are UK manufactured. Standards and systems have been put in place to ensure repeatability of manufacturing excellence is constantly achieved. One of the biggest advantages of fabric printing locally is that it enables us to supply our customers with new designs and the latest trends hot off the press.

...we put everything through strict quality control and testing...

All raw materials are subjected to rigorous tests and examinations prior to being selected for use in the manufacture of window blind systems and fabrics are regularly checked during manufacture to ensure they are of the highest standards. Our blinds are then cycle tested during development to ensure that they will perform smoothly and efficiently for many years to come.

...stock control and fabric care...

Fabric is stored in a clean and temperature controlled environment. We stock hundreds of different rolls of fabric ready to be selected for your orders. When your order comes through, a cut length of fabric is taken from the roll and delivered to our blind making department.

...final cut-to-measure for you...

When the fabric is received by the blind making department, it’s inspected once again before being cut to your exact dimensions. The blind is assembled expertly by our well trained team who are meticulous in their work. It is at this stage that your blind can become personalised by the addition of accessories such as eyelets, braids, scallops pulls and poles.
